About the {KEA} Clan
The history of the {KEA} clan
KEA was formed in 1998 as an American Quake 2 clan. The mod of Q2 that was played was / is called xatrix, its basically the first expansion pack. Because of a lack of servers, a lot of the American Q2 players used a UK server, upon which me and Mider played.
Eventually we joined then clan, and were surprised by the fact that once you joined there was no competitive aspect to it at all, other than running on the old CLQ global ratings, which was basically a load of bollocks.
A while later Throdgrain joined the Savage Q2 league, and there he,Mider and Fishy plus various others, received some hearty beatings that taught us a few things about serious play.
Things moved on, and the UK players migrated to playing CS about the time of version 1.0 or 1.1. Before long we had joined Enemy Down ladder, plus a few other leagues here and there. From there Tremor joined, and we decided that really the USA side of things wasn’t really where we were going, so we started a completely separate , yet related, entity.
Trem joined KEA when its only CS members were throdgrain, Jis, Mider and fishy. Their first ever match was on Italy and they got boned, in fact they got boned in every match for quite a while. Trem persuaded a friend of his to join KEA (silentb00b) and b00b then got KEA a server which improved matters somewhat.
After b00b came Fudgemonkey, getting fudge in the clan was a massive surprise to Trem as he was about one of the best CS players in the UK at the time (60-2 scores were regular for him). Trem was worried fudge would leave for about 3 years then decided fudge quite liked us and would probably stay, he loves Trem most of all.
We did ok for a while, we were getting twatted quite often in PCW by A&I and CS-B. A&I folded and some of their members joined KEA, to name a few they were Weev (weev may of come from CS-B) Adz, Dolly, BennyBoy, Lily, Rana(Isuck), and a few others we can't remember. When those guys joined it changed everything, we entered and won our Barrysworld division with ease and to this day that team still gives Trem wood. Soon after that some Scottish chums joined, Leggy and Bozz were mega important to KEA as they were skilled players and had passion (in Leggy’s case too much passion!!), they were both in turn made captains until one or the other got the rage and quit, only to rejoin days later when the tartan anger had faded a little. Trem still classes them very close friends whether they play or not.
That kind of takes us up to the team we have. Dysfunction, Calaen and Beaver joined somewhere in the middle of 2005 and have been great additions to the clan.
A while later we introduced Yoda and then Pikey into the clan. Yoda can be quite colourful at times and Pikey thinks he can make a difference.
Macey and J5 joined us but only Macey has stayed on!
